Just 1.5 miles from Woodrow House Bed & Breakfast is the Museum of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. This museum is a real gem with 2 wings of exhibits as well as centrally located galleries.

The Diamond M Gallery Wing houses art works by major American illustrators and artists such as N.C., Ann and Andrew Wyeth; Frederic Remington, Charles Russell and many more. N. C. Wyeth illustrated such classics as Kidnapped, Treasure Island and Robinson Crusoe. His children Ann and Andrew are famed artists in their own right as is his grandson Jamie Wyeth. The Permanent Galleries Wing has exhibits about West Texas and other areas aound the world related by natural history, heritage and climate. Gallery 5 displays a full size Tyrannosaurus rex and Triceratops horridus skeletal replicas. Galleries 1 through 4 are dedicated to changing exhibitions.

So here it is! I will be moving all my blogs so far over to Word Press. It’s been a little intimidating, but hopefully the more I do this the easier it will get! Let me start by telling you a little about our Bed and Breakfast and how we got started.
Woodrow House was built in 1995. We originally looked for older homes to renovate, since that seemed the way to go, but figured out very quickly that Lubbock just wasn’t that old and there were not very many older homes that would work well as a Bed and Breakfast. The other issue was having room for our family (which at the time was 5 of us) and room for guest rooms.
So we decided why not build something that looks old, but is actually new construction. We found a vacant lot across the street from Texas Tech University and it seemed to be the perfect spot! It certainly has turned out to be!!
We have been in business for 15 years now. Alot has happened in the 15 years we have been in business. We gave birth to our fourth child a year after opening and all four kids are growing up and we are now down to two still at home. We have expanded over the years and just recently we added a Caboose and now we have two brand new suites, a pool and hot tub.
We love doing this and hope to be able to do this for many years! Well, that’s all for now……more later!
